Care Geneva Eyelid Surgery
This eyelid surgery makes it possible to remove excess skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids, which often create a tired look. It is practiced on men and women from about the age of thirty. An ophthalmologic exam is recommended before the operation.
Blepharoplasty may be performed by itself or with another aesthetic surgical procedure involving the face (face lifts, brow lifts, cervicofacial lifts, peels, dermabrasion).

Most often performed under local anaesthesia, sometimes with light sedation, this operation achieves very good results. The scar is located at the skin folds, and it is very discreet, even invisible over time. When there is only excess skin, it may be removed by itself. If there is also excess fat, we perform a procedure. In some cases, only the fat is herniated without the excess skin. A transconjunctival blepharoplasty is then performed, with no visible scarring.
After the surgery, patients may experience variable degrees of bruising, which may be minimised using a simple oral treatment. On average, bruising lasts one week. Stitches are removed five days after the operation. There is no real pain, but possibly some discomfort along with a feeling of pressure in the eyelids or slight eye irritation.
